Is It Ok To Laminate Then Cut

So far i ve only had a few instances where the lamination pulled off of the paper after cutting them.

Is it ok to laminate then cut.

First though cut the edges of the old plastic film as close the paper as you can and be sure the object is clean and dry. I need the sides to be different colors and i don t want them to rip so i would like to laminate. Clamp the wood to the part of the counter that you are not cutting off.
